The Pre-Writing Shapes Hierarchy
Before any letter work, master these shapes in developmental order: vertical line → horizontal line → circle → cross → right diagonal → square → left diagonal → X → triangle. If a child struggles with letters, check whether they've mastered these underlying shapes first.
